About Tyler
Tyler Houchins is a Philadelphia-based actor, singer, and concert artist. Originally from Prince George, Virginia, he studied Musical Theatre at the University of the Arts and has appeared on the stages of Walnut Street Theatre, Arden Theatre Company, REV Theatre Company, and other regional theatres.
Tyler's first and forever love is music. He believes that the combination of melody and lyric has the power to connect people in profound and lasting ways. Guided by that belief, he creates original theatrical concerts that blend timeless music with deeply personal storytelling, drawing from the Great American Songbook, musical theatre, jazz, and country music.
His acclaimed original theatrical concert, Down a Yellow Brick Road: The Music of Judy Garland, explores his own artistic journey through the music and legacy of Judy Garland. Praised as "a beautifully sung and masterfully arranged tribute to the voice and art of Judy Garland" and with Tyler hailed as "a cabaret star," the production has enjoyed sold-out performances in Philadelphia, engagements in New York City, and is currently booking performances throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
Tyler has also appeared as a guest on Harold Sanditen's Open Mic Party at Crazy Coqs in London and Susie Mosher's The Lineup at Birdland Theatre in New York City. He is a Cabaret Fellow of the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center.
Whether on the concert stage or in the theatre, Tyler is committed to creating performances that celebrate the power of story, song, and genuine human connection.
